I think I may follow your lead as I need some gates myself.
The good thing about them is that it’s not a lot of outlay if it all goes pear-shaped. The tensioners are just bits of plasticard and styrene rod; the posts balsa; and the netting from the Ratio security fencing kit. All these were already in my possession, Matt.

That's the Wenford branch - freight only, and lesser standards. I'm modelling a fictitious section on the Wadebridge to Bodmin passenger line, so yes gates would be required IMO.

I’m sure you know more than me, mate, but weren’t all the level crossings between Boscarne and Wadebridge gated?

I agree with you - keep the gates. It is much more ‘in keeping’ and a nice nod to the real prototype.

What a wonderful layout developing here very ‘Iain Rice like track plan’ which is always a good foundation to start with. I think you will enjoy getting your head around the Megga Points control system and servo’s as it is road that I ventured down a few years ago. The only advise I can give you when wiring it all up is ‘thing simple’ because it’s just that :thumbs:
