will it curve with heat? steam? application of slow continuous pressure?
or will it be a case of routing the back to give some extra flex?
If routing, maybe a tall, thin diamond pattern, rather than parallel lines?

I had friends over this weekend and, after the obligatory Friday visit to a Tap House in Ashby de la Zouch, we had a day of small and smaller trains at the Statfold Barn Railway on Saturday.
Today has been a walk across the fields to a pub for Sunday lunch. But prior to that I did make use of the extra hands to lug all of Polsarrett down stairs and outside. The aim of the game was to settle my mind that everything would fit in the car...
It did, with room to spare. Panic over. Thoughts are now turning to the blessed backscene...

Well, after some investigation, the reason for which will become apparent in my next post, I discovered it was a vinyl pint on a plastic backing board....

Initial thoughts were that I'd solved the problem but...
The routed off, thinned backscene worked in so much that I was able to curve it around. But, after a few minutes in place the photo print decided it would start creasing and parting from the backing board. Looked horrid (zoom into the corners in the photo below).
So, after experimenting with a part at the bottom, I decided to just go with the flow. If it didn't want to stick to the backing board so be it. I pulled the entire print off the backing board and fitted the adhesive backed vinyl photo directly to the layout... Drastic measures pt2.
Not perfect but I think it's as close as I'm going to get with this print. Will have to remember where all the trees went now.

The last time the clay dries visited the garage it didn't end too well for the original Kernow / Bachmann RTP buildings...
This time it's purely to cut some wood to size. Honest...
With their resin cast origins, the dries are quite heavy and I'd prefer a mechanical (screw) fixing to the layout rather than rely on glue. They could do quite a bit of damage to other parts of the layout if they came adrift when the layout is being moved.
Holes were drilled into the ends of the wood through the back and front of the resin castings. The rear had a conventional wood screw attached. The front had some 3mm diameter brass rod tapped through. The holes in the front wall were filled. I've now screwed through from the underside of the layout into the battons. That should fit it in place.

Yes, I think it has transformed the view. IMO the moody sky sets the tone and the clay tips help set the location.

This morning's starter for 10 was to finish the office at the entry to the clay dries sidings.
Made and painted a door; fitted and painted the flashing; cut, fitted and painted the stovepipe chimney. It's now been glued in place on the layout and will be bedded in shortly.
The wagon in the siding is the new Rapido SECR 5 plank, and very nice it is too...

Having spent several hours tatting with that shed and it making absolutely no difference to the overall scene, I decided to do some planting.
First a fence line and scrub...
Then I went full on Alan Titchmarsh and plant some trees. Those at at the front are from MBR and those adding bulk at the rear are by me. I've tried to mix the heights up a bit of the MBR ones, tricky as they are all the same height, but hopefully this addresses the valid comment made by @Heather Kay earlier in the thread.
