Morning all,

Hope everyone's Christmas is going well. Things are ticking over at Chateau Sheep with the prep ongoing for a kit built roast beef dinner.

However, I've managed a bit of noisey shunting with this little chap this morning.....

GER C53 No.127 from Rapido's sound fitted train pack.

Much dinging of bells, hissing of Westinghouse pumps and general chuffing about.

Thank you for your support and comments last year.

Here's to more modelling and good humour in 2024.

'Winter edition' , you can only drink it during the colder months . Is there a summer edition or one for every season ?
Scotch doesn't like me anymore but i can still appreciate it.

Morning Paul, et al .

Jura is now my preferred tipple as I simply can no longer fully appreciate my previous favourites. In terms of the Winter edition, a bottle opened at Christmas rarely makes it past the first full week of January.......I blame global warming.

Sadly, since my brush with COVID, my taste and smell are permanently wonky so my drinking experience with malt has changed but I still enjoy a drop at Christmas outside of which I rarely indulge as I once did.

I was a bit weird for two days earlier in 2023 although I couldn't pinpoint the problem, and then a neighbour's granddaughter came round with a test kit and told me I had Covid...! It was annoying because, as fit as I felt by then, it meant isolation.

Afternoon all.

A busy week in work has seen precious little time for modelling but I have been scheming. I'm rubbish at drawing plans out. I mean, I can obviously get the crayons out and prior to eating them, I can sketch a track plan but to actually see it, I need to see it.........So, out come the buildings.

The SE&CR project is neck and neck with the Mid-Suffolk project as to which gets built, possibly starting this weekend. One aspect of the SE&CR job is an engine shed. As ever, the buildings will be drawn from the ready to plant ranges of either Bachmann or Hornby. Lazy but with a bit of tweaking, they will do.

Building small layouts you need to avoid large structures or you risk a building over powering the layout. As I intend using small locos then it makes it easier to have a small engine shed. To that end, I'm possibly going to use a Bachmann Narrow Gauge engine shed. I've had it for ages but I think it might well do the job.

There's also a bit of a side project developing, of which more later on.

Morning all.

No, Phil. No turntables will be harmed during this build.

I picked up a couple more points yesterday as the medium radius points in the last image were just place holders. This is a view with all points placed roughly in their final positions, with oddments of straight track plonked to illustrate the bits in between.

I see this as a quick build ( had I remembered to bring home a couple of lengths of code 75 flexi yesterday, it would have been even quicker !!! ).

This is nothing fancy. As per the original Sheep Lane (reminder seen below under construction) , it will be able to be popped on a table and played with. Nothing fancy just a layout to be enjoyed and proof that it doesn't have to be a grandiose scheme to provide fun and relaxation.........and the build doesn't have to drag on.

Mr Sheepy,

It's good to see some track based track planning on some baseboard type material. I look forward to seeing the progress.

Hi Phil. I'm hoping to make fairly rapid progress with this. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that this layout will be pretty much finished to an acceptable standard by the end of January.

Right, that's done it. Better get on with it.............
