Already heading for the naughty step...
I would say 'welcome', but I'm not sure, seeing as the reason you're here is your deviant desire to do nasty things to Pannier Tanks.

I'd better warn you, I have two, and I'm not afraid to use them, either. :p :D

Edit:- Oh, and anyway, yesterday I demanded you be sent to The Tower as a result of your shenanigans on the equivalent Thread, Over There.
While you are there, you can buy a 7mm Scale Pannier as punishment....

*evil laugh* .........

Evening all,

Well, my bold statement in that the "quicky layout" should be finished to an acceptable standard by the end of January has come undone and it won't be.

A few things have slowed progress but I hope to resume shortly. Updates will follow but at a slower pace than was first anticipated.

Rob,

Don't try to rush the recuperation, several mates have had the op, those that went with the flow recuperated better than those that tried to rush.

Best of luck, mate.

Morning Phil,

It's certainly taking longer than the last time. Back in 2011, I had both hands done, first right then three weeks later, the left. It was like a switch had been flicked. No pins and needles. A month after that, I took the Triumph across Belgium and Germany to the Czech Republic. Just a smidge under 1000 miles in two days. Obviously the same trip back and another 1000miles in between over about ten days. Much use of hands, a few aches and pains but fundamentally fine.

This time, there are other factors contributing to the problem. I had a follow up appointment on Friday. In summary, the hands are as good as they can make them. The pins and needles are in all probability caused by issues, including trapped nerves in my neck, residual from trauma to my neck on more than one occasion over the years. Add in a loss of feeling from the Diabetes and stuffed shoulders and there you have it.

A follow up with a spinal specialist awaits but theres a 2 to 4 year wait which in all likely hood will end up in no further action as there is an understandable reluctance to poke about unless absolutely necessary.......and there is a reluctance on my part to any interfering in that area as well.

So, things may improve dexterity wise over time but it may not and this may be as good as it gets. So a slower pace awaits as I adapt. It may be, as has already been suggested, that I ultimately move to 7mm but it's not an option at present. I've not got the space with the existing 4mm layouts and I've invested a fair bit in future 4mm projects which I really want to complete.

I've never had an issue like this which is why it's so prominent at present, like any new thing.

Ironically, it comes at a time when I finally have a dedicated modelling space ( after roughly 14yrs ) with just about everything I need in one place though I'm still trying to locate a few bits and bobs removed when the room was overhauled....!

So, time to move on methinks and look for new ways of doing things.

Rob.

Hi Rob,

Sorry to hear the hoof trouble is not clearing up as easily or quickly as you would like. Just have to be patient and take it slowly. (Easier said than done, I know!!)

On a slightly brighter note, are you aware that a photo of Ewe has appeared in the latest issue of S4 News? It's to illustrate a new Diorama competition they are running!!

All the best

Kevin

Sorry to hear that things are a bit more complicated this time around Rob. Wishing you all the best with your recovery.
Michael

Thanks for the kind words, Michael. I probably just need to be more patient with myself.

Thanks Kevin.

Yes. I had an Email today from the author of the article and I must say it was very flattering to see Ewe in such esteemed company. A lovely feature, all very nicely worded and presented.

Rob, I'm sorry to hear that your hand repair recovery is not going as well as you had hoped. Not to rub it in but my laser treatment this morning for PCO appears to have been very succesful. Seeing the difference after the procedure I am amazed that I managed to do such a reasonable job on turning the fiddleyard on Blackney into a scenic section. I hope that your recovery speeds up.
