John

I have recently used spray cans for JLTRT BG, it all worked fine. I tend to only use the airbrush for weathering and for spraying I use a small spray gun. It gets a lot of paint on quickly you just need to make sure that you do not thin the paint to much or its very easy to runs.

I like the cans though, but Heather doesn't.

To be honest most of my models have been painted with spray cans the paint covers well and is very durable

image.jpg As part of the parcels train I want to model a BG so I thought I would practice the painting on some strips of plasticard I've done the blue ill paint in the grey later .When I've painted LNWR coaches in the past they've been brass so if it went wrong I could just strip the paint but the BG is likely to be plastic so I thought I'd do a few practice runs(no pun intended):D

John,

I like the vans very much and the constructional approach is very neat (I'll certainly be copying it!). Just wonder if you need to get some Decasol/Decaset on those decals though as the film seems very visible. Is it particularly thick?
