Heljan Hymek, joining the fleet for RB,
I was hoping to get a diesel detailing kit from jltrt at reading and the snow ploughs but a costly trip to the dentist has seen that off.
I'm still going but just window shopping.

Hi Steve,

Find attached an updated version of RB. I have added the required slip roads to the diamonds and the additional crossing vee in the tandem.

See you tomorrow.

Regards,

Rob.

Hi Steve,

I recognise that place any day. A certain Mr Watermans.

I dont suppose you could take me an close up pic of the number plate of D1037 and a close up of D1038's numberplate the next time your over there:thumbs:.

BTW the pic of Canton with the green western looks great. I look forward to seeing progress on Raneleigh Bridge.

Rob:)

You certainly have the Welsh colouring.

Thinking of RB, the Metasmith's turntable is removable...you could make the rear removable complete so it's interchangeable with the layout in later diesel days? Just thinking........

How did you get involved with Pete's model, if I may ask?

And next time you see him, please put in yet another word for "Falcon..."

Back from reading and it was time to have a look at the track plan,
Big thank you to Rob (king john). For supplying this will save me a lot of time.

Seen on shed is my new tool van and Compton castle.

I met Pete a few years back at a show when it bought a castle kit, he put me in touch with Ozzy o and I've been a regular visitor to Leamington ever since and for the last year I've been involved with building the laser craft kits for Leamington station.

Hi Steve,

Nice to meet you at last, those plans will be very handy when you finally get round to making the baseboards. To have the scale plans will save you so much time in the long run.

All the best and will see you at Bristol ( weather permitting ).

Martyn.

The first job for 5043 was a change in tender transfer. She originally had one from press fix which was to yellow in colour and lacked definition especially around the crown.
I've replaced it with one from fox transfers.
I really should have done a before and after.

Hopefully you can see the difference comparing it to this picture.

This evening I've added the mechanical lubricator over flow pipe. We overlooked this when Ozzyo originally built the loco but we came across it when he was building 5099 which has it in place although it is longer as she has the lubricator in front of the steam pipe. I will tone it down a bit next,
image.jpg
5043 being a 4 row super heated loco should also have the two additional inspection covers just in front of the safety valve bonnet as 5099. Ozzyo has made a little punch to make these so I will add them soon and blend the weathering back in and add some white scale streaks down the boiler side.
Any one who thinks all GW engines are the same are seriously mistaken. The little detail differences between The locos is amazing. But that's what I love about 7mm because if you look close enough you can see them.

Hopefully this mock up will turn in to a reality during 2014

The big red box to the right of the tree contains the next loco to join the Ranelagh fleet.

On shed is
5099,
5043,
70019,
6023,
D7055 soon to be super detailed,
A tool van, gas cordon and a 7 plank open for ash removal.
Merry Christmas Nadolig Llawen

With only a few months left to go until Canton is moving to its new home naturally all thoughts are on finishing the railway room to house Ranelagh Bridge. I've thought about it long and hard over the last few months about whether RB should be built so I can exhibit it and Unfortunately I won't, it's going to be a long temp project and I feel it will be best if it's built in situ,
I would like to continue to support my two local model shows, my model club the neon group at the old Odeon cinema and the Newport O gauge show.
So I think I might just build a diorama, a place to photograph my engines and others if you so wish, it can't be big 4 foot x 1 foot is about the biggest as I can store this under RB in the railway room, it makes it easily transportable for just me.
So the prototype? It has to be some where real so this is what I've come up with,
A few signals to keep Jon busy a fair amount of clutter and a nice retaining wall.
Old oak common.
This should be a fairly short term project as I would like to have something ready for the 2015 NEWGOG show.
Merry Christmas all
Steve

I've been having a good look at the western this evening and I've moved the headboard clips up a bit, image.jpg
I used this picture as my reference,

I think the head code box needs to be a few mm higher as well but I'm not going to start carving the front up
