I got pretty much the same, but without the tone of voice, as it was by Email. It was when I was after bits for my 22, & a magazine article had recomended certain JLTRT bits, but without mentioning the difficulty in obtaining them sans a whole kit.
I think it depends on which quarter the moon is in it's lunar cycle!
It would be better if they sold to all or sold to none, picking and choosing 'elite' customers really isn't good cricket (my personal view). We're all customers (potential and existing) so should all be treated the same, if they want to run a gold member system then reward those they choose with a discount or something, but denying those with 'shallower' pockets really isn't good for those starting out at entry level to the hobby, I.E. those that haven't bought 10 (example) or more JLTRT kits.
Mind, I think in say five years time it'll all be academic as 3D printing will be good enough (it's already good enough for many parts) for people to make their own and bypass JLTRT for detail extras, unless of course you have to have brass parts....which seems to be an 'English' model railway hangup, most other branches in the model world readily accept resin or plastic as detail parts.
So in the spirit of Cyric and Western Thunder, rather than bleat about JLTRT rebuttal of after market parts, I'll just go and make my bloody own
Not quite sure yet what LOL, and, I may be gone some time as I have more important things higher up the food chain
