I totally agree with all the above comments and realise I am late to the thread, but reading this sad episode reminds me of Rule No. 1. "It's my model railway...."
Also this is a hobby and we must never forget that.
Lastly I too do hope Rob returns...he definitely has the distinct knack of turning "out of the box" to very convincing models.
Those that are close to him will have passed our thoughts...
All the best Rob

Well, it has been a little while.

Firstly, I must thank all who have provided support and encouragement, publicly, via private messaging, e-mails and in person at the shows I've taken the trainsets out to.

Thank you all.

So, with that out of the way, here's a bit of what I've been up to.

The Rmweb SWAG show at the end of April went well. As well as a grand day out for all concerned, the event raised £650.00 for charity which this year was donated to The Stroke Association. The layouts were frankly superb and all those who attended the event, be it bringing layouts, provided demos, assumed the roles of "staff" or simply visited the event epitomised all that is good within the hobby. Kind souls also donated some £220.00 toward the running costs of next years show.

On a personal note, I took Sheep Dip to Larkrail in July. It was a lovely day out in very good company. The layout went well and all was good.

August saw Sheep Dip back out at Minehead and again, all was good. A really nice show organised by really nice people.

In between these, Ewe was readied for it's trip to Railwells. Main thing was the weathering of the three J70s..Some stages of which are shown below.

Nice to see you back Rob.
I'm glad you have found 3 J70's that run well enough for you and I am looking forward to future posts on this project with much anticipation.

Hi Rob,

The Rapido J70s ran impeccably over both days at Railwells.

There will indeed be more posts regarding Ewe.

Rob.

And I cannot let mention of Railwells pass without extending my heartfelt thanks to Chris ( Pencarrot of the parish ) who provided such lovely company over the weekend.

Much laughter, much beer and much fun which truly made it a great show.

Rob.
