An overdue update. Progress has been slow (no change there then I hear Mr Ploffy cry) but I've picked up the tempo lately. The last week has seen me crack on with some of the major infrastructure projects on the layout starting with the yard area and the retaining wall.

Supports going in

Locating dowels used to locate end wall

Walls fitted

Mock up of exit to fiddle yard showing retaining walls and girder bridge placed to check for clearance
Now at the station end of the layout the first of the concrete station overbridge support structures has been cut out of 15mm MDF and quickly placed to check for clearances again. I need to make up two more which will be sandwiched together and located on the platform. These are loosely based on the supporting structures at Bolton Trinity Street station.

The next job is to continue with the control panel and to start the wiring of the layout. I already have an unwilling helper and once we can complete the electrics then I'll be at a point that I'll be happy with. getting the electrics finished was always one of my major aims before really tackling the headache that is known as scenery. I suppose I'd better go and buy those pesky Tortoises that I'm going to need,
regards,
Mark
