If Romford wagon or tender wheels, you could tell by the axle diameter and wheel tread width.

I have some Hamblings wheels, but they had fully formed spokes.

I think they are probably made by the manufacturer.

Thank you, Tony. Yes, I think they may well have been made specifically for this model, either in-house or by someone else to vR’s specifications. I have unfortunately not been able to find a photo of the real Peckett no.1952. I know the model was based on works drawings, so a serious effort was being made to achieve an accurate portrayal. Maybe wheels had to be made specially because nothing suitable was available off the shelf.

The Sevenoaks show came and went and was lovely. Impeccably organised by Dawn Quest @ModelRailwayQuest so was busy all day due to very extensive advertising. Lunch was definitely the best I'd ever had, fruit, biscuits, yogurts etc.

Brilliant show, thank you Dawn.

These two came through the post the other week, ready to run on Dublingham, a Banana van and Blue Spot van.

I'm still waiting for Dublo to produce a Pannier.

From Gamages, no less. Just down the road from Bassett-Lowke’s London shop and selling in direct competition.

My knowledge of vintage 00 is very poor, but didn’t Graham Farish also make 3-rail for a time? And make a pannier? But possibly not a 3-rail pannier. Also, I have no idea if the Graham Farish models look right with Dublo, and vice versa.

I'm sorry but I only know about Dublo, I haven't much clue about any of the other manufacturers.

'Real' Dublo never made a Pannier but there was a cast pannier body by Gaiaty (spelling?) that fitted the R1 chassis.
I did one well over 60 years ago body and chassis from Bearwood Models also long gone.

Allen

Information about Gaiety models is here:

I was aware of the N2 because van Riemsdyk used the body casting as the basis for a controlled-clockwork model. A rare thing. I have never seen one.

Thanks all for the information. I did know about the Gaiety pannier and N2, but will always aim for this layout to be pure Dublo. Speaking of which I do have a couple of Romford wheeled 4MT tanks which are next in the queue. My ScaleSpeed armatures are excellent, so I am looking forward to fitting one to a 4MT tank. I have refitted the ScaleSpeed/Dublo motor in my 8F and found it works just as well as the airfix motor, so I can reassign the airfix motor to an EM project.

Sorry to inform you that ScaleSpeed have stopped trading. Stated in Railway Modeller & confirmed on the web site. I have used then for several Triang X04 motors.

Hi Allen, yes, you are correct, however I called them and they are still continuing to do armature rewinds luckily, £25 a go including postage.
Cheers

"That's an affirmative, I'm at the scene now, back of Dublingham Goods Shed. Two repeat two RTR boxes, and in plain sight"
------

"No - no sign of entry to the boxes, we could still achieve partial containment"
------
"Difficult to say at this stage Sir, but my money's on Gamages - job's got their stamp all over it"

Later back at the station....
"So that's two counts of box opening and one of historical wish listing, bang to rights. Book him and take him down to the cells".

"Job well done, we need to take these Pannier fanatics down, especially as they are part of the Dublo gang".

Many months later at the prosecutors office, he leans back in his favourite armchair and sketches out a plan, thinking to himself....

"We are going to have to build this case from scratch, there's no kit formula for it, the box opening is straightforward, but the historical wish listing is something new and dangerous. We need to make the case ready to run in superquik time, the perp had obviously been planning this job for decades, since the early sixties in fact."

Had another good show yesterday at Kempston, second time there after attending the 2019 show. So that's 17 shows now, next stop Spalding in November.

Numbers were down it seems due to reporting of flooding, but I only spotted flooded fields, so was a shame.

Having had a Dublo 4MT tank brewing for some time now with a nice set of Romfords, maybe I can justify one on Dublingham. I've not seen any pics before of 4MT tanks on freight turns, certainly I could justify it on the parcels working, possibly even the the milk train too???

My first train set was the Hornby Dublo freight which was sold with the 4MT tank. Is that not justification enough?
