To say the vans body looks like a wooden scout hut. Observation of prototype photographs showed that there was a surprising amount of small details to add to it.

Fortunately as I am going down the route of using the body kit as a conversion kit for the Slaters Brake Van the kit also donated many of the small details such as lamp irons.

Final fitting up, picking out the handrails and some basic weathering of the underframe bring the model to life.

Though I am somewhat stuck at present until I find and obtain suitable transfers to finish it.

Should look the part with the other engineers stock the layout features though when it is finished.

Correct for the car too.
You could at least let Jordan tell me about my "mistake".

Given that we are discussing a "British" made car of the '60s then I am not surprised that there is no recent MoT history in the relevant database. I am surprised to learn that the registration was issued and to the prototype of the model in the photo... so when and why does Swansea remove records from the registration database?

I watched a U-tub video last month about a rally of Ransome traction engines in Ipswich during this summer. I noted that almost each engine was in the registration database... and most had entries in the MoT database.. For what it is worth, most of the registration entries recorded the type of fuel as "steam"... a fuel that is not taxed as far as I know.

Presumably once a vehicle is scrapped it is removed from the database. I looked up the reg of a vehicle that I used to drive in 1970 and it still exists - but attached to a Black VW rather than the Hillman Imp that I drove. A plate that was clearly worth more than the Imp that it was attached to!

Yes I'd go with that. A blue VW Beetle I used to own was later listed as a 'beach buggy' so presumably the chassis had been used under a fibreglass shell once the body had rusted away - and contrary to popular myth at the time, Beetles could self-destruct as readily as any other car
Several trucks I drove regularly years ago no longer exist, nor does a Renault Scenic we had that was written off following damage by a third party - the best outcome as it turned out as we got full book value for it (still not a lot!) whereas if we'd tried to sell or part-ex it we'd have got a lot less. For one thing my then-5-year old lad had drawn a smiley face :) .....on the bonnet  ... with a stone.... :headbang:

My Mum’s, then my, 1967 half timbered Mini traveller no longer exists (but I still have the reg plate!)

My dad’s Rover 2000TC (in which I learned to drive) says the tax is overdue, from 1984….
