I suspect not very much, George - packing up for the house move has shone a bright light on the wide variety of half-baked schemes that my butterfly modelling psyche flits between, and it needs little temptation to try another. I'm always tempted when I come across less popular pre-grouping and light railway subjects but fortunately there isn't a feasible excuse to mix the Furness, North London and Garstang and Knott End...
Seriously though, I do suffer very badly from project inertia and the while I'm a lifelong but sadly unproductive narrow gauge modeller the recent growth in pre-grouping and industrial OO RTR models has made me start to think seriously about something in OO or EM that might actually allow me to get a small something running and relatively finished.

Keep it in the fridge unless your modelling room is really cold . Doing this will slow down the rate at which it eventually will turn to goop, which it will.

Really liking the mill. I keep having ideas about doing something based on Tide Mills near Newhaven.

What a great photo and a real rabbit hole of a subject! So much of period interest too with the pebble-faced walls (some of which are still standing in the abandoned village) the horse mounting steps on the right (we have an identical structure still in our village) and those very tall chimneys with stays.

Well it's been a busy bumper weekend here.
The coal stage got painted
And has gained a coal pile
Although you can see the coal from the viewing side of the layout at least I know it's there!
The hut and water tower are also taking shape although they sill need some work
The cassettes which I haven't really featured yet had the track finished and the ballast laid at our AG meeting today.
At the village end of the layout the level crossing gates are on and nearly working fully. Also the final cottage from John has arrived although it has meant the trees at this end neef rearranging.
And finally the ripples have been added to the river with mod podge and a drinking straw.
Luckily they dry clear!
Let's hope for an equally productive week

That rippled water looks brilliant.
I spent a lot of time over the years as a youngster exploring the downstream pool at Bintree Mill on family visits - and whilst it could indeed often be described as calm as a millpond, at times of higher water flow it was just like this.

As I've just mentioned on my own thread, the black paint came out today, with both cattle vans benefiting:
Tomorrow's focus will be on the interior. I've put a sandy base coat in already (a step lighter than my usual method) but this will progressively be worked up towards white with various shades:
The overall aim is to match the other wagons that will feature on Skeetsmere, as well as giving that distinctive lime wash effect that adorned cattle wagons of the era.
