Your experience is the same as ours... so the circular saw and guide is used solely to reduce a 8x4 sheet of 6mm birch ply to the rough shapes which are required. A router is used to finish the outline of each part and to produce the slots and tabs (hint, our 6mm ply measures a shade over 6.5mm in thickness so a 6mm router produces a slot which needs a few strokes of a file to give a close fit on a tab)I've been making up kits for the plain boards for the storage yard, but even using the guide on the saw, not all of the cuts have been perfect, so I've had to straighten them up with the router.
