I was hoping to go to Uckfield this year, to see the Iain Rice layouts, until I realised that it clashed with a Europe concert in Wolverhampton.

Morning all.

Well, spinning plates is the order of the day today.

Flu jab first thing then the small matter of erecting seven fence posts before I can drop back onto the lighting rig later today.
Things were tidied up yesterday and tubes, wiring etc removed. Yesterday evening, the mounting card was glued onto the interior face and books left on top to weight things down.

If I can at least trim things back and replace the tubes by tomorrow evening then I'll be happy with that.

Next job will be bring the layout down and doing the alterations to the ends to hold it all together. Massive bonus if that can be achieved by Tuesday evening as things need to be sorted in order to load the layout into the car on Thursday. And it needs cleaning and checking before that can happen not forgetting the fence building and work in between............busy time indeed.

Oh........there's also a few potentially cracking games of rugby to try and dip into as well.........

Can I do it all ?

I became more sympathetic to your plight when I recalled that rather than matchsticks, the fence posts are 304.8mm to the foot scale… :)

Reckon you’ll stand a better chance of getting the post holes dug if you have the flu jab somewhere other than your left or right arm - but then you may not be able to sit down (so that might rule watching the ruby).

Things are a bit full on at Château Sheep. The 1:1 fencing project has proved tricky and a rather large setback put the project back by about 48hrs. Even changing my working days around didn't really help, making the most of the dry weather and being in work today, we will see no further progress until after Uckfield.

The replacement lighting for Ewe, needed for Uckfield, has also not gone well. The usual exhibition set up, used for all the layouts at shows, went with Bleat when it was sold. Due to the time the garden project is taking, I decided to revise the original plan for the lighting in an attempt to get things done.

It didn't work. Looked rubbish so back to plan A.

There's still a lot to do and I anticipate a couple of late nights as I still intend to load the layout tomorrow evening/night to make for an early start on Friday.

So, the game is well and truly afoot.

I'm still hoping to get up to the Uckfield show. But my energy levels are distinctly low at the minute (being kept awake by the storm doesn't help..). If I don't make it, I hope it's good for you.

Having seen the weather forecast, at lunchtime, It looks like you may also need some sort of flotation device(s) as you get towards the South of England.

I hope you manage to get it all sorted in time, nothing like a deadline to concentrate the mind.

I hope my friend and I will be coming on Sunday Rob, weather permitting. I suspect it will be something like a 3 hour drive down from near Great Yarmouth. I hope it goes ahead, it would be good to meat you in the mutton rather tha in hyperlamb.

It looks better with the lighting unit fitted, you just need to get it all in the car now, ready for the off in the morning.
