Please Sir, dumb question from the Back of the Class....
How is that pronounced in English?

Stand by

In Welsh it comes out as ee tholl
Almost Tim. To explain further........

Y
'y' breaks the rule that Welsh is phonetic. As a single syllable word, y is like ‘uh’, on the last syllable of a multisyllabic word it’s an ‘ee’, and anywhere else it’s like the unstressed, indeterminate noise of the final e in ‘garden’ or ‘letter’. Ysbyty (hospital) is the perfect example.

Dd
a buzzy 'th' sound as in 'this'. Bit like an angry bee with a lisp.

Ô

short as in ‘hot’, not round as in ‘hotel’ The ^ lengthens the sound.

L
A 'luh as in lava.

So, we end up with

Uh Tho.....l

Well, a little bit of tinkering today has seen the MDF deck added to the fiddly area and a new front board cut and added to the front of the scenic board.

A bit of green stuff has also been plonked down to see how things might look and it seems to look okay, as it happens.

I'll probably cut the roof etc this week and then finish the basic presentation off before removing it all to lay the track, electrics etc.

I think it does look quite promising though.

The greenery really brings the scene to life. Are the bushes also MBR?

Morning Will,

Good to see you.

The greenery is a mixture. The taller green stuff is, as you say, MBR. The shorter stuff is branded as being from AK Interactive but is very similar, if not identical to MBR products. I picked it up on Saturday from my local Firestorm Games.

Oh and......um........Cough.......Rye Sands......cough............

It's coming along nicely Rob. The 260mm depth is quite a lot better than the 220mm I'm used to with the SMS RUB fitting layouts.
......although with lower back scenes it might well fit side ways.....thinks....
