Afternoon all..

I'm not well. I had my COVID jab yesterday evening and woke this morning feeling a bit second hand.

This has progressed throughout the day to feeling utterly rubbish. I'm normally okay but this one has knocked me for six. General malaise, headache, in fact everything is aching and a bit of the hot and cold flushes and struggling to stay awake.

Needless to say, it's a feet up job.

Hope you feel better soon. I had both my Covid and flu jabs at the same time (different arms) and went straight off round the supermarket with no ill effects at all.

Last year, I had both Covid & flu at the same time. The next day I was useless (more so than usual) but thereafter, fine. This year I had both with no ill effects beyond my customary lethargy.

I hope you feel better tomorrow, Rob.

I have had flu jabs for years and Covid since introduced and never the slightest reaction. :)
Some of my close 'friends' assure me that it's 'no sense no feeling'
Sorry for those who do get a reaction but hope it protects form more serious problems.
Regards
Allen

Same with me with the COVID jab - pretty well flat on my back for a day or so feeling very feverish. With all the jabs I've had over the years (lots of foreign travel at one point) it's the only jab that does this. However I haven't had Covid again since my first infection at the beginning of lock down so I treat it as a necessary evil. :)

I'm now considered to be an auld fart.....Shortly due for a free TV licence.....When that happens, I think I'll cancel it, just to be annoying.

I haven't had any covid jabs since we had to have them, in 2021!
I haven't ever had covid.
I haven't had flu since 2010 and the swine/Mexican flu outbreak, for which I got my sick leave paid for, and non-attributable as it was a recognized epidemic....When we all got tamiflu through the letterbox. Which made me even more 'ill!' [So I binned it]

Mind, I try to avoid jostling in crowds [Being able to fart at will, {whoever he is?} guarantees nobody stands too close behind me at Lidls' tills], and I don't attend shows, crowded pubs, parties, football matches [or any matches, for that matter]....or travel on public transport...even if for free.

I really cannot see the point in making myself ill now that I am , what they call, 'retired'....since I no longer get sick pay!
I attend a bloodletting at my GP surgery once or twice a year....and avoid sitting in their waiting areas as they are full of sick people!
I also insist the 'nurse' uses a clean needle as well.
I also use a different arm each time....I know what can happen if one makes too many holes on one side...

Morning all and I trust we have all had a pleasant couple of days ?

Thanks for the good wishes, yes 'twas pleasant.

I'm hoping to resume some modelling over the weekend though I'm working today and tomorrow and No.1 daughter has pre-booked me for a couple of hours on Sunday morning.

Christmas saw Santa deliver a couple of Kernow's LBSCR wagons which really are quite delightful but they've gone 'into stock' for now due to the present focus on things Eastern. They're destined for the SE&CR project which has been shunted to one side by recent interests but it was a case of get them now as, like practically all new releases of rtr items these days, they are limited editions. Once gone, they're gone ! ( until the next batch of course but who knows when that will be ).

Activity in the Room of Doom will be limited initially to a bit of a tidy up and reorg as things have gotten a little bit unkempt as of late, despite there being only sporadic bouts of actual modelling for a while now.

Part of this reorg will mean me taking a proper and wholly realistic look at what items can be moved on. I have too many locos for too many projects and I have said before that this must change.

For example, we may well see the four Terriers bought for a nod to Hayling Island going as well as the three Beattie Well tanks now longer likely to turn a wheel on a Wenford Bridge type build. The Italian tank engines are also in the firing line as are a couple of Pecketts so that would be a good start I think.

Therefore, there's a bit to be getting on with.

Hi Rob, like you am having a change of direction. Already have a BR(W) branch terminus layout which is virtually finished. Have more than ample stock to run it but have lost my modelling mojo. Was contemplating building another WR layout but really need something different and dropped on a shelf layout on this site depicting the Wenford Bridge branch and it has really taken my interest. I see you could be disposing of your Beattie tanks and could be interested. Could you get back to me with your thoughts please
Thank you : Paul
