Hope you all had a great Christmas day yesterday.

Not done much in recent weeks. Busy run up to Christmas at work and then Christmas itself. First time at the workbench in weeks.

First fix plastic for the stonework on the chimney breast. A mixture of thicknesses from 20thou to 60thou. Should give a good starting point for carving to finish off later.

Back to the station guards' building...

All my buildings sit in some sort of socket in the top of the board so that you don't get daylight appearing underneath. This one is no different.

In this case the socket is formed from 6mm foamboard. The raised area furthest away is the platform and that front and left, is the pavement along the station road.

The building sunk in. Hopefully the fact the road / pavement rises to the right is noticeable.

Between this building and the station there's a turning head and a gap through which views into the yard beyond can be got.

A very typical (of the real Bodmin North) view down the platform. The canopy with the distinctive curved triangular hole in the end will be noticeable. The station is currently a card mock up...

I've absentmindedly forgotten to post a big thank you to SheepBloke. Sent over in the post before Christmas was a parcel. Now, I must admit it thought it might be a Flying Scotsman cuckoo clock or some pannier emblazoned socks, but no,....

Many thanks kind sir.

Mange Tout, Pencarrot.

'Twas a pleasure and I'm glad you like it. My own 7mm aspirations are on hold, probably indefinitely and this little chap was just sat in it's box. Better he finds a home with a proper 7mm modeller............Looks very much at home in his new surroundings.

Up early this morning as I'm trying to finish all the structural work on this building in 2023... That will just leave painting, doors, windows and roofing for January. After that it might be a switch back to 4mm and Polsarrett as it now has a show to go to in 2024...

Very basic tools required for the stone cladding:
