some years ago I lost (without the Ping factor) the casting of the levers for a GW firebox door. How difficult can it be? I asked myself.

not difficult at all, but very, very time consuming.

Thank you to our kit makers, and their pattern makers, to whom we owe a debt!

obviously I found the casting later.

Yes, a soldering iron, when switched on, does have a hot end - and a cold end, but you're right - you will catch it by the hot end, albeit very briefly....

I'm in the process of cleaning up my bus photographs from the 1970s and 1980s.

Noticed this while cleaning this one I had taken inside a LCBS MB AEC Swift on route 301 in the late 1970s.
