Help! How to strip paint?

I've made a bit of a hash up on a plastic kit with the painting.

How do I strip the paint without damaging the plastic?

Hi Phil, i always use modelstrip. This is simply because it doesnt affect the plastic and seeing as i model a lot in plastic as opposed to brass:thumbs:.

Gets my vote too, though when I've run out I have substituted Mr Muscle oven cleaner (model in plastic bag, spray and leave for an hour, scrub with old toothbrush) but it's not as effective as the proper product.

Chaps, would Modelstrip work on resin - like the Steve Beattie 24 I've got to work on? TIA

In my experience Modelstrip won't touch either acrylic or cellulose although it does work rather well on enamels.

Sorry to put a downer on proceedings. :(

The only thing I can usefully add is that Modelstrip is unlikely to cause any lasting damage to your model, although it can cloud glazing and seems to occasionally weaken superglue and even epoxy joints.

Phoenix 'Superstrip' might be worth a punt; I know that works well on acrylics and modern factory finishes.
