Nothing in the way of actual modelling occurred over the weekend as I was stewarding at ExpoEM. I did however have several good conversations with friends, WTers and even people I had never met before, so very enjoyable from that perspective. I also managed to do some shopping for items that had eluded me and, of course, I picked up the Lo-rider kit from High Level.
Many thanks in particular to Geoff Haynes who, on the Sunday, gave me some personal tuition on use of lining with bow pens. I am sufficiently inspired to give that another go!
Back home and I have made a start on the Lo-rider. The etches go together really well. My difficulty is really trying to marry the kit to the Bachmann bogie frame. I have soldered up the basic Lo-rider ‘box’ and have since been hacking and slicing the Bachmann mouldings apart to try to get a fit. I haven’t succeeded yet and have given myself a headache so I think I’ll stop there for the evening and have another attempt when my head is a bit clearer in a day or so.
A couple of photos show the current state of affairs…
