Talking of the Somerset Levels is there no show at Woolavington this year? Usually the S&D Railway Trust.
Lovely photo of Ham Lane.
All the best

Hi Julian,

It's apparently scheduled for next July but I can't see any confirmation of the actual date. I believe there have been some changes to the organising team which may account for the unusually late confirmation ( or lack of confirmation ) of arrangements.

As a Trust member I received the following communication in November.

"It is going to be an important year for the S&D Railway Trust next year, with the 100th anniversary of our 7F's construction at Darlington Works and the beginning of its next overhaul. With this in mind, we have decided to postpone our usual model railway show at Edington until the summer of 2025, hopefully in July, the actual anniversary of 53808. This will mean that our usual show just after the New Year will now be around seven months later for the 2025 exhibition which we hope will be an extra special one to celebrate this great anniversary. Members and the larger model railway fraternity will be kept informed as to the selected date next year and we all look forward to seeing you at that event."

Hope this helps.

Now that the layout is approaching scenic completion, it occurred to me to compare similar views from the past with the present, to illustrate how long it's taken me!

June 2008:

July 2008 (at CamRail, in Bradford-on-Avon):

The proper signalbox for the layout had been completed a few years prior to 2016. The Hornby Skaledale box was only ever intended to be a place-holder.

Tim,

Was it as long ago as 2008, when you started Callow lane? I remember taking some photos of a chip shop in Lewes and the bridge parapets on the A38 near Thornbury, for details and colours. We were on a different forum back then.

It was actually back in 2004, Phil. It's first (and so far, only) exhibition was in 2008...

Wow, even further back than I expected.

Still it's all coming together now, I look forward to seeing it in the flesh one day.
