Thanks for that, both very handy tips.. I'll try to remember to try them before I knock the second  half of the bottle everywhere... and leave myself without any to build with..  :headbang:

I've started using the small glass Airwick bottles that they use in their air freshener dispensers.

[attachimg=1]

I remove the wick and carefully remove the plastic wick holder to fill the bottle,  then replace the wick holder.  If you only half fill the bottle,  the wick holder prevents any spillage if the bottle is knocked over.

And while you are waiting on the bottles becoming available,  you can model in the fragrances of all the licentious smells of the Orient.  :D :D

Part 2

On some of the kits, some of the sections need to be cut down to size..

A scribe to the right length with some calipers..

Forgot to mention, I clean up the bottoms of the sides after I have attached the internal strengthening strip, this ensures that everything is perfectly in line..

Genius... thanks Jim, I'll go and invest some shares in Glade..  :))

If you do get some bottles,  just be a bit careful when prising the plastic wick holder out of the bottle.  The necks of the bottles appear to be quite fragile and I broke one when using a screwdriver to prise the holder out.

Bye Eck Lad, as we say ooop norf  :)) :)) The is very fast work indeed, will it be two passenger trains for the April meeting. I was hoping to bring a couple more wagons and a started G5 but you're going to beat me hands down  :))

It would be nice to have them running at the April meeting, but there's plenty of work and time to be spent on the bogies...

With any luck though..

I was wondering if I should pop over to Birch's and mould some, or maybe use your idea of shaped MDF. The MDF would certainly be a nice source of weight, though I can probably glue some strips of lead in the middle of the underside of the floor between the bogies..

Any thoughts on who might supply the buffers for these?

It looks to me like they were round in shape with a slice off the top...

Try Markits, you can down load their catalogue, but I'd ring Peter first as he may have some, he was buying stock from Haywoods who may also do them. Dare I mention JLTRT ?

JB,

I'll have a good look through my Dad's stock at the weekend if you like. He's a lorry load of plastic moulded seats which he bought for some kirk kits he has and he may have some buffers, certainly for the Gresley coachs as he bought a job lot ages ago,

JB,

I managed to find a few bits, a pile of plastic moulded seats and two sets of what look like Gresley buffers. Send me a PM if they're of any help,

ATB Mick

Seats look pretty good!! Do you have some rough dimensions?

Buffers look good too, they're definitely the correct pattern for the Gresley coaches? How many sets are available?

JB.
