Nice brass kit, I notice the cab innards also in the picture, I printed out the pressure gauges faces and used them on a 00 one I've just done, works well and would look even better in 7mm, any ideas to do this with yours?

Phil

PS I see you're just over the valley from me ;)

A Vulcan white metal shunters truck, I've added Acton transfers on one side for use on RB & Newport on the other for use on Gaer Junction. image.jpeg
Toad, I've since added transfers to this again with Acton on the one side.

I've managed to secure a set of plates for 9710 so the 97 will get a new identity it was going to be 9704. I wanted 9710 originally but could not get the plates from Severn mill, she was still displaying the Shirtbutton right until shopping in 1961. Interestingly she was overhauled at Caerphilly works which means she can be used prototypically on Gaer junction as well.

Hi Steve

Have you sourced interior for the Toad ?. I've purchased a Lima Toad from Telford & was thinking of putting interior in.

Steve

image.jpeg We 3 warships, D814 Dragon, D806 Cambrian & D845 Sprightly. The latter 2 will need to be stripped down for conversion work and will require a full repaint.

You can only get the unnumbered versions through Tower, the rest of us can only supply numbered versions. I removed the printed numbers, I left on the D with a sharp flat scalpel blade. I've replaced with fox transfers. The printed numbers came off very easy so it won't be an issue for any one else who wants to do the same. Severn mill shed code plates attached. The name plates are drying.

I've made a start on D806 Cambrian. The first batch of warships had disc headcodes plus a lot of other small detail differences. The side grills had one centre stanchion as opposed to two. I've been carefully carving away the plastic with a craft knife. I will cut a new vertical slot and insert some plasticard strip.
I've ordered some cast headcode discs from JLTRT and they should be here in a few days.

I've found these useful for cutting plastic - used by aircraft modellers. They are RB Productions micro saw blades on a etch designed to fit in an Xacto knife handle. May be fine enough to fit between the louvres to save carving.
