Yes Dave it's been invited to Larkrail and Wells (subject to confirmation!).

Still a load more scenic work needs to be done before it's finished

Some more shunting was indulged in yesterday, all motive power pictured comes under the heading of 'exotic' or 'outrageously unlikely' for the Forest of Dean, but there you go.

Hymek shunting:

A very clean Warship has ventured down the Marsh branch:

And in an outrageously improbably re-writing of geological history, further coal reserves have been found in the nearby Parkend Royal mine, which has been kept open until the late 1960s. Here, the NCB loco, plated to run on BR metals, is shunting at Marsh Sidings:

Hi Mark,

The 0-6-0T is a High Level Barclay kit. I do have a 'Victory' to convert to P4, but haven't done so yet.

The layout and the lovely scenic modelling is the work of John Farmer (aka 'Charon').

A few more...

Ultrascale converted Rapido 16xx. This would have turned out to be very straightforward if only I had done things in the right order! The main obstacle was the original plastic brake gear which had to be discarded and a new brass assembly made and fitted by CK.
Amazing to see this!
We used to wander in FoD in the 70/80s and we stayed in the flat above the PO in Parkend once.
This was the first time I'd ever seen a 3 way point and had to walk down and have a look.
Very well done indeed it's just as I remember it.

Cheers and thanks - Jim

Brings home how impermanent and transient this digital world is. Wonder how much of the current information will still be available to historians in future years. All those folk wondering what on earth a CK was...

Having, on and off, spent quite a bit of today trying to work out a 95 year old footnote referencing a set of documents between 500 and 650 years old, I can assure you that we historians are quite capable of creating enough of our own problems without the help of the digital world...
