Lovely work. I am currently debating with myself about a future project. Will it be O or OO? I was at a stage of being convinced it should be O but you are not helping!! ;)

Haha thanks John, having modelled in 4mm then took the leap up to O gauge then came back down to 4mm I’ll give you my honest opinion which I hope may help. 7mm is fantastic and I loved my time modelling in it but it’s not cheap especially if you wish to add sound etc and most locos that are released are in limited numbers as well as limited choice but please don’t let that put you off. Like I said I loved O gauge but for me it just took up to much space and I knew I’d never get anything finished hence why I took a bit gamble with myself and jumped back down to 4mm but I’m loving every minute and I know I can finally get a layout finished with all the locos and stock I want.

What ever you decide good luck with your next project and thanks again for the kind words it’s much appreciated

More modelling today, nothing really exciting, I’ve glued down the remaining sleepers on this section and I’ve made the retaining wall that has two relay boxes in front of it, this is made from a sheet of Slaters 7mm dressed stone.

Hopefully I’ll get another video done tomorrow.

Fourth day of early’s so with an alarm call at 3am there’s not much modelling going on, I did thread the chairs on to the remaining sections of rail and I’ve finished the down line tonight so at least I’ve got something to show. I’ve also passed Bootle branch junction a number of times over the last few days where the line leads to ELJ and Bootle docks so took some pics.B74A5031-4C44-47EE-9CF3-0F88F8500EC5.jpeg0C1AF37E-B325-4123-BEBE-71FFEC66614A.jpegA1C0E1D9-3285-4B2F-AD6F-2E83D2F8FCD3.jpeg22B342A3-5C08-49C8-A810-0AA74B91C70F.jpeg4CB7603A-0FA1-4B65-9FB5-21B9FC5E47D8.jpeg

Progress is progress no matter how small, Paul. Best, too, to keep the momentum going

Great atmospheric photos. Were they taken from your cab?

Last day in work today so I’m hoping to get the catch point finished over the weekend then I can start the wiring. Once this is done the fun stuff can start like ballasting and weathering.

I learnt quite a bit whilst building the first version and it was due to wanting to better my modelling that I decided to go down the EM route. Now as much as I enjoyed building this version it was the need to re-wheel everything and the decision to go 7mm that ended ELJ in EM. Only the junction was built but a lot of experience was gained ballasting and weathering the track.

I wasn’t entitled happy with the catch point last night as I thought the angle was to tight so I’ve reduced the this and I think it looks far better, so that’s more or less all the track built on board number one.

The track building team have started moving stuff off site and the weathering gang have arrived ready to perform their magic once the the electricians do their job.
