Hi Martyn,
the main problems that I have been made awareof on the body are - see Simon Castens 1/32nd thread
1 the strapping is shown as an etched line - ie representing being set into the main body panel, whereas it should be a 'T' bar with the flat face on the body. An etched strip should have been provided that is held in place by the etched strip that are provided - parts 2 & 3 on the ends and 18,19 & 20 on the sides.
2 the lower flange of the solebar is too high - it should be level with the bottom flange of the buffer beam.
It does seem that my 'solution' is OTT, had I not had the JLTRT kit as well, I would probably have carried on as you are. I will no doubt find a use for the spare parts in due course.
A niggle on both kits is that the steam & vacuum pipes are white metal and being quite vunerable, should have been lost wax castings.
Best of luck with your build - what livery are you going to do? I look forward to seeing some pictures in due course.
regards
Mike

.
, but it will be well weathered as I find that carmine a bit loud for my taste. I have not found any pictures of one in carmine yet but on Paul Bartlett's great site there is one that is in a decrepit condition with loads of flaking paint, and it looks like the original GWR brown and also the carmine are showing through the layers.
, although it does seem to have a tinge of maybe carmine showing through when being compared to the parcel van in the adjacent siding which is definitely a mix of brake dust, sleeper grime and frame dirt
.
