Thats ok, you can go onto wooden packing crates now .....Mmmm...Scania.... Please excuse me whilst I go off and a) drool and b) cry ... no-one makes 'proper' trucks anymore - I HATE Automatics; must be almost two years since I've used a proper gearbox.

Just on pallets, I don't think you'd have seen a blue pallet in the UK until after 1975. Before that they would have been just wood colour, with some burnt in branding on own users.

We're doing paperclips next. Round ended, pointy ended, loads of different sizes and colours.

The Blue pallets are owned by CHEP, and woe betide anyone caught trying to sell them....
"CHEP" is a Company that derived from WW2, and stands for Commonwealth Handling Equipment Pool... they were set up during the war to standardise the way supplies were handled for transport all over the world.
Not many people know that.....
And as GKN Chep, they were in the mid eighties the very first company whose sales representative vacancy I had "got" (cold calling from a recruitment consultancy) that was subsequently "filled" by the company I worked for, generating my first sales commission.
And no it didn't make it worth it, I should have got myself a "proper job" - look where I 've ended up now!
And not a lot of people needed or wanted to hear that......
Great pallets over on 1/32 workbench by the way, I 'm looking forward to replacing the stack of 12" to the foot variety currently doing service as our back door steps - pure class (not)
