But not necessarily the same layout. My On30 locos won't fit under the overbridge on my O-16.5 layout!
My British O won't run on my US O layout for two reasons -
1. My US layout is DCC, My UK locos aren't.
2. My UK stuff can't cope with my rough US trackwork either!! :)

I’ve just caught up with this thread and put my hands up too. EM, 16mm and 009 so far, with some random thoughts about a tram layout of uncertain scale/gauge…

Glad it's not just me! I started my N gauge U shaped layout round the walls of my home office as a lockdown sanity saver, but became rather put off by the poor quality and unreliability of the steam locos (diesels were ok). I then got sidetracked by an IOW 00 L shaped shunting plank shelf which works well, but is very cramped. I also can't see me building anything in N other than buildings and the odd wagon kit, but 00 is a possibility. My next project will another be another N shunting plank shelf to use up all the stock I can't fit on the first N layout! Oh well. it keeps me amused, and I do enjoy designing and building it all, which after is the point, isn't it!
