It can't be long before passenger services are axed beyond Presteigne, this was the scene yesterday morning. It looks like the guard has spotted something untoward with the railcar?

Passengers might be few and far between but meanwhile the grass continuous to grow............

It looks like the ditch behind the fencing is beginning to flow toward the trackbed, I've now reached the stage where I'm beginning to go totally mad and have started to plant individual blades of field grass.

Somewhere in my stash of bits and pieces I have some very fine chain, some of it will be used to secure the gate when I find it! The static grass is supposed to be autumn grass, but I'm not convinced.

Wow, great images as usual,

but it's getting difficult to come up with new images now.

Geoff, what equipment do you use to produce your excellent images, I've had a look in the article to see if anything is listed, but can't see anything.

Glad you like the latest images Gary :)
I use an old Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38 camera, which was bought with the proceeds of my first article for the Railway Modeller.

Different views? Other than that, no!
Lots of new trees behind the finger post.

Richard is close, here's before and after shots......................

I was never really happy with that clump of trees to the right of the finger post, so painted them out.

Looking in roughly the same direction today, as my optometrist would say, "is that better or worse"?

A new addition to the stock list is this Darstead Mk 1 Suburban brake, must say that I'm very impressed with it. My better half bought it as a thank you gift for a luxury weekend away.

The new arrangement looks better to me. I really do love the look of the whole layout. The nice details and overall colour palette are just so. Marvellous.
If my layout ever reaches completion, I'll be over the moon to get anywhere like this for scenic realism.
Dave.

The new background looks better to me too. That said, it looked just fine before and it wouldn’t have occurred to me to alter it if I had produced anything that good.

Geoff,

the trees worked for me in that they didn’t distract. I think the same is true after painting them out, so I guess “neither” :)

Thanks for your thoughts, Simon,

The trees stood out like a sore thumb from certain angles to me, and my eye was constantly drawn to them. I don't believe a backscene should really have that effect, I'm far happier with the scene when I look along its curve side on now.

That's very kind of you Dave, thank you. I would be over the moon if I could build an Ivatt tank like yours.

Cheers Martin,

I think the scene looks far more open and natural now, mind you, it took me a long time to pluck up the courage to change things.

So that's two in favour and one neutral, thanks very much chaps.

Thanks Mike, they seemed to be a good idea at the time and I enjoyed modelling them, but they just didn't look right in that location. The whole site was too cramped, more width would have helped, but there you go.

On a different note, has anyone spotted the difference in the opening photo of yesterday's post ?

Geoff
You changed the wording on the signpost ????
