Hi Doug,

Thanks for that, and to Julian too.

Great to think I’ve helped somehow with your mojo. You definitely need to finish as the layout looks great so far…..right up my street.

The trackwork looks very well done, and I see you have some Halfords brown camo paint too.

I echo Dans comment above, do you have a layout thread for it?

Regards
James
You’re welcome James. Yes, the Camo brown was from your suggestion, only snag was it took me ages to find it on the shelf at Halfords, I couldn’t see it for being, errr, camouflaged!

Maybe I ought to do a layout thread, as that’s probably a good reason to keep up momentum on the layout..

Hi Dan, thanks for that! I think I’ve amended the picture size in the previous post. I haven’t got a layout thread, one for the future possibly. Doug
Hi Doug

Much better thanks. I look forward to seeing a layout thread when you get around to it (with apologies to James, for the thread hijack!).

Regards

Dan

No problem on the hijack!

Some of my updates have jumped around a bit and shown detail I have yet to explain.

I will try to address that starting with the head shunt area. I like to think some of my skills are growing but I still struggle a bit with random stuff. The grass between the tracks and the yard surface was not random enough so I ripped up the grass previously shown between the headshunt and first siding.

I got a detailing grass applicator from world war scenics and found that easier to apply small clumps. I also used brown powders to soften the edges of the clumps to try to prevent it looking too ‘placed’. I have also added grass on the embankment behind the platform and added fencing, lights and a running board.

Running in board needs black!

Hi,

Thanks for the kind comments.

I have used some Severn models benches for the platform. They are etched metal and require a little bending and superglue. Bit fiddly for me but we’ll worth the effort. I’ve painted them black and will pick out the GWR shirt button logos in cream. The two large ones will go in front of the spear fencing here and the smaller two in front of the station building.

I did have a pagoda shelter for the area between the end of the bay and the station building but decided to purchase a concrete style shelter as well. It is also from intentio and I prefer it.

I need to add some details and guttering.

I have also surfaced the road on the bridge scenic break and added some grass and weathering powder as per the sidings.

Hi all,

Here are some pictures that pretty much bring us up to date, the progress photos might slow a little from this point!

So I continued the random grass around sidings back to the run around loop and added bushes to the small section against the back-scene between the shed and bridge. Some of these have the peco box in them!

Trying to disguise the board join a little.

Adding guttering to the shelter and fixed down the station building, benches and gates.

Thanks for the likes.

I can show some of my rolling stock now.

Here is my latest piece of traction. I say latest, I bought it a couple of years ago in a sale as an all green version. I weather my OO stuff but my two main locos, a 25 and this 35, have been done by David Magill aka Jinty or Jintyman.

He has numbered, weathered, sound fitted and added a yellow panel each end.

I picked her up from David last month on the way back from holiday. I think you’ll agree he has done a fantastic job. So here are some pics.
