The Metropolitans finest hour. (In fact I think it is the most elegant and beautiful tank locos ever made in the UK).

Not sure that it's even the best looking 4-4-4. Here's my offering, but of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm going to try this kit by Roxey Mouldings. The etchings look very nice but I'm surprised that no wheels are included considering the price.

Anyone with tips on how to reproduce a teak finish would be appreciated.

Didn't some of these go to France?

I'm sure that I have seen a photo of them on a French minor railway.

As I recall it was very rare for wheels to be provided in 4mm kits due to the variety of gauges available - 16.5mm, 18.2mm and 18.83. If all 4mm kits were provided with 16.5mm gauge wheelsets someone from the 18.2mm or 18.83mm fraternity would invariably complain. Way back in my 4mm modelling days it was always wheels (and motor) extra.
