Adding some more dirt around the track area today not really a great deal to see so I popped some engines on IMG_0747.pngIMG_0751.jpegIMG_0745.jpeg
Not to be outdone the crew of the Scot are giving her a quick once over IMG_0748.pngIMG_0752.pngIMG_0754.pngIMG_0753.jpeg a Modelu prep bench, I’ve still got a few bits to in this area to hide the clay, it’ll be a talc and paint gunge mixture applied to the rail side.IMG_0751.jpeg

IMG_0776.jpegYesterday seen the little stores building bedded in with sand IMG_0778.jpegI’ve poured the large puddle using resin, I’ve still got to add the pit wall sides on the longest pits IMG_0779.jpeg
I’ve topped up some of the other puddles with gloss varnish and given the footbridge deck a wash of rust

Pit sides fitted today using kirtley models rendered concrete prints, I had these printed off on photographic paper as I couldn’t get the original prints supplied. IMG_0800.jpegIMG_0799.jpeg
I’ve given them a coat of clear flattening lacquer but I need some more before I add some thinned washes to blend the top in IMG_0801.jpegIMG_0802.jpegtelegraph poles wired up IMG_0803.jpegIMG_0805.jpeglast time on shed for 46147 as she is off to Paul Moore at Kempton Park for plates and new numbers, these ones have been sealed in with a clear coat. She will return as 46166

A little project that’s been underway for far too long! Dapol pannier now with top feed added. This was a bargain sound fitted model purchased about three years ago, I’ve not worked on it since I moved and that was a year ago.
Halfords primer and satin black next then transfers. Plates on order from LRS ( narrow planet ) 7724 86G IMG_0810.jpeg

My second king was purchased from a friend of mine a few years back, I weathered it for a model rail photo shoot IMG_0862.jpegIMG_0863.jpeg
It was in its 1957 condition so needed the taper buffers and parallel chimney replaced with later pattern parts IMG_0854.jpeg
A new JLTRT chimney was purchased and Warren shepherd parallel buffers added.
It was built for Radio control so no pick ups added and is currently away with Dan Haines having plungers fitted on the engine and DCC

The ground cover complete on Canton, next job is to polish the rail heads. Smoke unit is being delivered today and I’m keen to get in installed to see how it performs.
I’ve got to make up the cassette board next to feed locos “on shed” IMG_0902.jpegIMG_0901.jpegIMG_0900.jpegIMG_0897.jpegIMG_0898.jpegIMG_0899.jpegIMG_0896.jpegIMG_0895.jpeg

Locally shedded 7820 Dinmore manor on shed at Canton. This will be my choice of loco as I had a footplate ride on this engine at the Dartmouth steam railway a few years back.

Another ex works pannier on a running in turn from Caerphilly IMG_1034.jpegIMG_1033.jpegand finally a smartly turned out Hall leaves the coal stage heading for the turn table

What is the covered building over the tracks just behind the coal stage above 6951's tender, Steve?
I can't find a site plan that identifies it.

Or is it part of the coaling stage - drops for tank locos maybe?
