I have a keen interest in the architectural side of modelling and thought I'd start this post off as way of perhaps collating information of buildings which form an important part of any layout and act as a signature of any place in reality or that you care to create in model form.

I suggest a good starting point is to google “brunskill buildings”. RW Brunskill researched, illustrated and wrote a lot of books on traditional buildings in Britain, any of which will be useful.
