Thanks John, its nice to try and make something look as good as I can. The OO track for me 'lets it down' visually which is why Shelfie, Albion Yard and the new layouts are all at a relatively high track level of 55 inches, which does quite a bit to disguise the narrow gauge once weathered and scenicked. As far as the image goes its a simple shot put through Googles Picassa to make it B&W, the 52xx has had a little work to it including the Brassmasters kit and other body detailing to give it a bit more presence.
The 52's were part of the Design Clever period that Hornby had a few years ago, and some bits of it worked very well indeed despite much wringing of hands and hyperventilating in some corners. The bits I changed were likely to have been changed anyway and weren't related to the design clever ethos as such.
