A start in S7

New to WT, not sure where to post this. Couldn't find a natural home for it anywhere, so posted in the gallery. It's 1/108 in S7 from the MMP kit. Very enjoyable kit to build, and I even found a way of making the etched leaf springs work properly. Slaters brake van next - if I can find the right disc wheels in S7.

I spent some time this afternoon working through your RMWeb blog on the MMP 1/108 construction. Blogs are not the easiest way to follow a project but the well-described and well-illustrated methods and progress made it a worthwhile slog. Your final result above is testament to that.
As you are new to WT, standby for endless comments about how lots of photos are essential currency. Welcome to the world of S7 too!
Cheers

No problem with posting here as I'm sure that the results will be of interest to many - irrespective of gauge used.

The wagon and weathering look fantastic but the detailing and texture on the whole diorama just completes the authenticity of the scene. Nothing looks out of place. I do like the the effect of the brickwork - is it embossed card?

Hi Ian,

Firstly welcom to WT, there are a few S7ers here so you will feel at home. I have to agree with Dave about blogs, I just don't have the time to read them all. Rather be building something.
Still, keep posting here but remember the photographs, one is worth a thousand words, or so it is said.

Any chance of turning the RMWeb blog into a bijou featurette for the S7 Newsletter? Please?

Ian -

Here we go again about the leaf springs! Did you not see my post only yesterday - Hobby Holidays Leaf Springs | Western Thunder

It is only fair and reasonable to point out that our leaf springs work as we intended and it was your decision to take things that stage further - for which full marks! It is a lovely build.

But I feel that it is important and only fair to MMP that this clarification is made.

Yes, the brick retaining wall is from Slaters English Bond embossed sheet. The wall started as a quickie project, turned into an epic.
