ID did me a custom job for Pottery Quay, I took a series of overlapping photos and emailed them and ID stitched them together.

Telegraph poles were erected this morning. They are Ratio 452 Telegraph poles, which I cut down from 4-bar to 2-bar and then sprayed 'em with Howes Railmatch Sleeper Grime. The pots were painted with Tamiya acrylic light grey...


Telegraph lines serve the goods office, signalbox, station offices and weighbridge...


The station building was plastered with a few notice boards as well. They are still GWR seeing as I've changed the period of the layout to circa 1953. The choc & cream signalbox could be the new GWR late 1940's colours or the box might get a repaint in stone... Not decided yet...

There was a niggle, which like an itch, continued to irritate until something was done. A hump developed over time, so a further support leg was added and the leg under the hump shortened slightly. It wasn't enough, so a length of track was taken up along with some grass and the cork was shaved until level with a very sharp file. Sounds simple but the job took all day...



One result of levelling the hump was the elimination of a short length of Peco flat-bottom track. It's all bullhead now...

I took a couple of cameo's while waiting for the day to warm up. The Siphon H was waiting to be loaded with raincoats from Werramac Ltd, and was last seen at Bethesda Sidings. Time moves slowly at Llanfair and the 'W' prefix on the van is all that shows that the railway is in BR ownership. The hand-wound yard crane is awaiting a new rope...

Warning: Anyone with an allergy to tension-lock couplings and Peco uncoupling ramps should look away now!

This Peco uncoupling ramp has been assembled as per instructions. It was probably designed for Code 100 track. Its too tall for Code 75 and bullhead and trains will uncouple when drawn across it.......Mmmmm naughty...

Two ramps, the upper one is shown after modification...


This image shows the modifications. Four legs removed and 1mm removed from pin holes. Drill the latter so that the holes go right through the ramp....


A second view. Place ramp over base and press in the two plugs. Held in place by applying Mekpak from the ramp top...


If the ramp is too low, add a suitable thickness spacer from Plastikard... The key aim is to draw trains over the ramp without them uncoupling, but they should uncouple when being propelled over the ramp...
