That's a really cracking selection of layouts - one I would have been interested in, if you weren't a 5+hr drive away!!:'(

Scalefour South East
Part of the Uckfield Model Railway Exhibition
21st & 22nd October 2023

Have you got Scaleforum 'blues' after the brilliant show last weekend?

Looking for your next inspiration?

Then Scalefour South East is for you with the Scalefour Stores, demonstrations by local Area Groups and the Society Stand in attendance.
Part of the excellent Uckfield exhibition. and with a special tribute to the late Iain Rice with at least 5 of his layouts, it's not to be missed.

Download the guide attached.

Please note that there is one change from the Guide listing.

Unfortunately Robin Marsh is unable to present his Weathering demonstration on the Sunday morning (10:00 – 13:30).

I am very pleased that another member of the Marshlink Finescale Area Group has stepped in to fill the slot.

David Lowe will be showing his modelling using CAD and 3D Printing.

See you there :thumb

I find amongst very fine company indeed. As well as looking forward to operating EWE, I'm looking forward to seeing the Iain Rice related exhibits.

Here's a reminder of the modest contribution that myself and Ewe will be making.

Unfortunately the Uckfield College MRC's layout Ettington Verso is not going to be ready for the show, so they are going to be bringing College Halt instead. An eight page article on the layout features in the latest issue of BRM (November 2023).

Unfortunately I can't be there, but if the operation is as quarter as good as the modelling it will be excellent indeed. I have a real soft spot for French railways (say's the bloke whose Avatar is taken alongside the Strasbourg to Colmar line!) and this model is just so evocative of them, truly great modelling.

Have a great exhibition

This layout is justification alone for the drive to get there. Hoping very much we can make it.

What Simon said. If I can get over there (we've a newborn in the house, Uckfield for an afternoon should be ok, assuming I can find transport...).

Just been asked by BCN-Pete to update the Wenford Dries entry in the OP with its correct gauge. It is actually 31.5mm (finescale 0) so as to improve the appearance and running whilst still using ready-to-run stock.

Just checked the Exhibition Guide proof copy and it's correctly listed there - phew!

Talking of the Guide, it's grown to 40 pages this year and has a track-plan and photograph for every one of the twenty layouts - only a £1 on the door.

Just a reminder that if the town centre car parks are busy the Uckfield Railway Station Car Park, which is a short walk away from the Civic Centre, will be free to use over the weekend courtesy of Network Rail and APCOA.

See below a map of the centre of Uckfield and the relative locations of the station car park - and of course the station - and the Civic Centre.

Sounds like it will be a great exhibition, but like others I am too far away.
A lovely ensemble of IR's work, but I was intrigued to find out where the Boston and Albany HO US layout went. Does anyone know, "something" Bluff I believe.
Cheers
Julian
