Gotta love a Bandit!! I know MILW fans hated what the Soo did to their engines, but for me it was a 'different' way to have a Soo Line loco other than white & red

(although I could still do with a Candy Apple Red one to balance out my fleet).

Mmmm, yeah.... the Soo patching other roads stuff is one thing, seeing what became of ex-Soo locos is quite another :confused:

Then again it's now 30 years since it became a Fallen Flag!!

I especially like the GP15s, as they are probably still running today, there are certainly plenty of GP15s still running in the Chicago area.
Y707 isn't on the UP roster anymore, but it could be running elsewhere .

On a trip in 2007 we ended up at Silvis at the NRE re-build shops. As luck would have it they were re-building the entrance to the shops and you could just drive in past the line of loco's before reaching the office. So on the way in I took pics of what we past and on the way out wrote all the numbers down we could get. I did go into the office and ask if we could go round the yard but got refused, don't ask, don't get. Anyway here are two more SOO GP9's as PRSX 102 and 125 waiting their fate on 15-03-07

SD40-2 NREX 745 ex SOO at Silvis on 15-03-07. Are the bogies right for a SD40-2? Did the SOO have secondhand ones?

Fallen flags and loco's, SD45 WC 6619+SD40-2 6005+6004 (ex Algoma Central)+SD45 WC 7504+6636 at Blue Island on 19-03-01 Wonder if you can still stand mid crossing like we did here after asking the bloke in the crossing tower for permission as I think the towers gone now.

#745 was a straight SD40, about 3ft shorter than an SD40-2.
Looks like it's on it's original trucks to me...

I did think it was Jordan but I put the number in Google and I'm sure it came up with a dash 2 that's why the trucks baffled me a bit.

I am scanning a trip to California in 2000 at the moment and there is a couple of old pics to come but in the mean time here is SP GP60 9765+UP SD40-2 3676 at Woodford Sidings on Tehachapi on 09-02-00. Did this trip in conjunction with visiting O Scale West.
