Readers who have seen my postings in another place may reall that in my imagination, Upwell Drove is the terminus of an agricultural tramway running from the station of Diddington, which is situated in the Cambridgshire Fens. The period modelled is the 1950'5/60's, depending on whether I want to run steam or green diesels (or sometimes a combination of both!)
The model is 4mm scale, 00 gauge. Track is peco code 75 bullhead, with pcb pointwork (except for the double slip, which is peco.) Motive power is rtr. When I was first considering the new terminus for the agricultural tramway, the Model Rail/Rapido J70 was announced. I pre-ordered one, and this was the spur to base the agricultural tramway on the Wisbech and Upwell.
The layout is moving towards completion. I need to finish the village street, add some fencing and gates to the yard, and build the fences on the disused cattle dock. The something different beckons - Yelverton in Devon! I'll post pictures of progress as things develop. In the meantime, here are picures of the current state of play.
Perhaps not surprisingly, Upwell Drove is a bit of a haunt of J70's
Finally, something a bit more modern....
All the best
Alex
