Tour de Yorkshire (France) 6th July

I was passing through Leeds on my way home from Ireland last Sunday (6th July) and saw this set on hired by Northern Rail to provide additional local train services over the weekend. Virgin Mk3 coaches, DB lettered MkIV driving trailer topped and tailed by 2 class 67s, one in DB red and the other 'Royal Sovereign'.

When I got to Keighley a proper engine with it's Westinghouse pump working hard (shame about the red buffer beams though). The KWVR also provided extra services to Haworth on the Sunday.

And yes, I did stay and watch the race pass through Keighley (these are stills grabbed from my short video).

No trains but a couple of Tour de France images. We were on a small hill between Haworth and Oxenhope, (Haworth is just over the hill in the background behind the lamp post).

All the club riders and leisure riders puffed and panted up the hill - the pro-riders breezed past like it was a Sunday cafe ride - albeit at 25mph!
