The first pics were taken through a fence at track level, but Todays pics were taken behind the Ascot hotel on top of the bank.

But where are the rows of Peaks, 47's and stuff? I shall now retire to cry into my beer........:(

Seriously though, some rather sobering shots that make you realise what seemed so permanent is nothing of the sort. I shall resolve to get out and take more shots of what's left of the "real" *railway before it's all gone.

* No offence intended but "real" railways have locos at one end of the train and don't carry adverts. In fairly recent times, the more civilised variety were painted blue;) . Rant mode now switched off:p.

It always seemed dull whenever I went. As it did at Toton, to be honest. And I don't think I've EVER been to Westhouses when it wasn't raining.
