Just a tad in poor taste young man... or have you forgotten what happened to a steam-hauled excursion north of Newport in the 1970s?Did one go under a low bridge..??!!??

North to West route was re-ballasted... deep ballasted... and the engineers did not re-gauge after completion. A passing bridge took an interest in a safety valve.

Both 6000 and 3717 were in the NRM workshops on Saturday (presumably being prepared for the move to Tyseley). I wonder if the cab roof, chimney, safety valve were removed from 6000 for the rail movement from the NRM to Holgate depot in York (which is normally used for road/rail transfers)?
