Rosehearty - GNSR New Aberdour Branch

Rosehearty is primarily operated in the 1947-52 period but from time to time the date varies. These views from the 1960’s;









D5341 was a regular visitor to GNSR territory with several images in the Association archive, so this became my prototype.

The other half of my pair of BRCW Type 2’s has made it off the workbench and into the layout.

D5322 was another regular visitor to GNSR metals so was an obvious choice;







Like twins, even identical twins, there are subtle differences if you look for them.

Then heading back to Fraserburgh.

Catching the pick up freight, spring 1966.



The empty coal wagons get removed from the coal road.

Then a couple of loaded wagons replace them.

When completed the train in reassembled at the platform, then heads back to Fraserburgh.

Heading back a decade and more to the early 1950's. The early morning service is normally strengthened to 3 coaches.

Heading down the branch to New Aberdour, with GNoSR V Class, formerly number 35 in charge.





And then returning a little later to head back to Fraserburgh.

The Type 2s are very atmospheric John, especially the glimpse of the crew in the cabs ...I can almost smell the fumes!
It is like a "webcam" has been put on you layout... Lovely
