Attached are some photos of the footplate I've been scratching away at for quite some time (work on it when I get the chance). I'm going to keep some of the details a mystery for now (Can you identify this footplate?). In the perspective phots you can see the locomotive body and a US quarter (just a bit larger diameter than that of a 1 pound coin).
The locomotive body is from a Lionel post-war 675 (Pennsylvania RR K4 class) c1947. I have made some modifications (and a few more to come) to the loco body and have put together this footplate. The tender build will be covered in a different post. My best research and measurements point to Lionel working in a roughly 1:55 scale (but some elements are skewed; i.e. this Lionel came as a 2-6-2 but the K4 was a 4-6-2). The fireman and driver are 1:48 scale. The backhead is 7mm scale. Other elements are sourced from LGMiniatures, S&D Models, Dave Roxey and/or scratch built.
Looking forward to hearing from the group.
Cheers,
Timothy Jump
