Very tasty. That must be just about all the motive power used on the BR S&DJR now available RTR?
9F, 8F, 7F, 4F, 3F, Std 4 & 5, Std tanks, Ivatt tank, 2P, Bulleids, Jinty, 1P tank...
Glad to see you have omitted the pesky Western locos from your list Chris. To be applauded.
For me the S&D will always have Green signage.
However, don't forget the Black 5. I would add in the Ivatt class 4 mogul and the Horwich Crab, both of which were regulars up to the late 40s/ very early 50s. ( Rule one extends this to the late 50s in my woolly world)
Also Std class 4 moguls and for Radstock, a L&Y Pug. From the Southern we had the T9 that were on occasion provided by Bournemouth shed.
Therefore a comprehensive roster of motive power can be assembled with little or no effort.
A good representation of coaching stock is also available RTR, including the 39* Maunsell sets.
All in all, anyone could have a decent stab at doing a S&DJR main line layout off the shelf.
One day a mainline layout based on the Northern end of the line...........
Lambcombe Vale?
Sheepton Mallet ?
Baahverton Hammer?
Mmmmmmm..............long sweeping curves.......wide/longbaseboards.........minimal track work ........PECO Code 75 Bullhead track/points
All these models are now coming out too late...
Never too late Dave........
