To The End - an O-9 Diorama

Long time lurker, infrequent poster... but I thought I would introduce 'To The End' a small diorama that I have developed in O-9 (7mm scale/9mm gauge) that fits into a 9L 'Really Useful Box'. The internal dimensions of the box are 335 x 210 x 140 mm and in order to use a pre-existing tree as part of the scene, the 210 dimension has ben used as the height of the scene (and even then the tree required a little height surgery ;)).

The scene represents the end of a siding, perhaps an almost forgotten corner, maybe the sort of area of a tourist railway that you only get a glimpse of as you pass by on a train and maybe are unable to take in all the items that you have just passed by. The details vary from the everyday of a bulk bag of aggregate and oil drum, to to bits of locomotive and rolling stock.

The backscene board is removeable and in some cases it's absence makes for better photography, as these next shots show (all taken before I painted the fascias!).

I've deliberately not gone into constructional details here, if you want to know more, and find how this scene has evolved from a tiny 140 x 70mm micro diorama, please visit my blog O9 Modeller.
