Superglue

Evening all,

Can anyone suggest a method of breaking the bond of a superglued joint between the plastic of a Brawa electrical plug and the metal please?

I have already tried WD 40 and acetone with no success.

Many thanks,

Bernard

Hi Bernard,

As long as the plug isn't likely to melt, very hot or boiling water, will usually break the bond. When superglue first appeared way back in the late 70s, I stuck my finger and thumb together, at a Bristol show, the first aid lady, didn't have a clue, so I told her to put the kettle on, when it boiled she made a cuppa and put the rest in a small bowl and I added small amounts of cold water, until I could put my hand in it, by the time I had finished the coffee, my finger and thumb were parted. The hotter the better, but don't scaled yourself.
