Never.....

For years I have been hinting to a company and anyone who will listen that a Thompson Pacific is the missing 'piece' in the East coast passenger motive power. The overwhelming response on the box-openers forum was it'll never happen "'Cos we don't like Thompson". Even Tony Wright chipped in saying it was a no-go'er because of all the variations.

Another of my hobby-horses was the GWR 'Manor'; an obvious choice for the mass market. But again there seemed to be little movement.

My third bit of banging on the drum was the little GWR 16xx.

Now all three have have either arrived or will hit the market later in the year, so I arrived back on Planet OO just in time! How a Thompson Pacific will find it's way into deepest Shropshire except on a low-loader is anyone's guess, but that's where Rule 1 and red-route upgrading comes in!
