The bent banana myth started courtesy of Boris I believe. The idea was to have an EU wide consistent way to define banana grades across all countries in the EU. Thus a buyer in one country would know what they were getting when specifying grade 1, grade 2 etc. One criterion was the amount they were curved. The EU did not specify how bent or otherwise bananas should be, it was simply creating a common definition. Such is the mischief of certain people.

Most of the myths/lies about the EU can be traced back to Boris Johnson. That's the polite version...

Stop it as in stop once it has started, or stop as in preventing it from starting?
Two very different solutions you understand.

Ah yes, a solution, indeed, maybe a multiplicity of solutions.

Wash the car in a solution (or mixture of solutions) that moose find distasteful.

But first, I suppose we should understand why we are instructed to not let moose lick cars. Is it bad for the moose, or bad for the car? Or is there some other reason?

And, extrapolating, we should perhaps understand what motivates the moose in the first place. I mean, they’re herbivores, and whilst I’ve never tried either, I’m guessing cars don’t taste much like the local vegetation?

So many questions…

I deliberated where to post this, I could have been a book review post or on the signal box thread but at the end of the day not only did it make me laugh out loud but I'm sure it was originally done just for a laugh. At the back of the latest L&YR Society magazine, another cracking issue, was a book review, on the cover of which is the quaint little signal box at Longridge.

However it was the final paragraph that killed me.

Both my lads are "graduates" of Hutton Grammar School so I know it well and the vision of the lads going to the headmaster for permission cracked me up.
