Dog Star
Western Thunderer
So we have the kits... two of PW's best Cl.52... and thought about the livery (for a minute or three). We have thought about the names (not got far on this one, Western Legend sounds ok, not so sure about Western Saloon). Now the time has come to think a bit more seriously... because we need to find some suitable figures for the crew and what better place to start than asking at the home of 7mm Westerns - even though the NRM seems only to have a plate from Thunderer.
One of the engines is going to be built circa 1963 period... which to me means driver and fireman in traditional Western Region dress of jacket over bib and braces crowned with a grease cap. The other engine has access to Tardis and is fluctuating between late 60s maroon and blue.... ah, not so sure about the fashion for drivers at that time, any suggestions?
And where do you buy yours from? Omen or Heroes of the footplate or Aiden Campbell?
And finally, I did ask before and cannot remember where so please excuse the reprise. I fancy having an inspector in the cab, modelled on Stan French from Reading - I recall a long brown lab coat with a dark brown trilby. Any suggestions?
regards, Graham
